City Government/Municipal Government - Howell, MI, US
The mission of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce is to be a catalyst for a vital business environment and an exceptional community. There is tremendous value in chamber membership. Some of it is difficult to put a number on: the contacts, the networking, the education, the support. Some of it, however, is easier to quantify: A national study showed that people are 63 percent more likely to do business with chamber members than non-members. There's no better choice than the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. Known as a big-picture, can-do organization that plays extremely well with others, the Howell chamber regularly collaborates with public and private groups on programs, proposals, projects and initiatives that serve the greater good. The chamber was one of the earliest advocates of the Latson Road/I-96 interchange, which is creating an entirely new commercial corridor in Livingston County. It's a founding partner of Leadership Livingston, which creates future leaders for our community. The Howell chamber's special events -- including the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest, Fantasy of Lights, Sunday Farmers' Market and the Livingston County Home & Garden Show -- attract well over 125,000 people and pump millions of dollars into the local economy. The chamber's four lines of business: 1. Member services 2. Advocacy 3. Economic development 4. Community improvement The Chamber also works with state and federal governments to support local businesses and their best interests. As well, chamber members and potential members benefit from programs sponsored by the Chamber to help promote business, networking and best practices, including Lunch & Learn, Good Morning Livingston, ChamberConnect and established referral groups.
