In the autumn of 2015 the House with the Heads will open its doors as a centre for free and contrarian thinking. The Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica will function as the core of the house. With its unique collection this library incorporates the story of the Western spiritual and philosophical tradition and is – equal to the house – inseparably connected to Amsterdam and its history of free and contrarian thinking and freedom of speech and press. With the opening of the House with the Heads in 2015 these topics will return to the heart of Amsterdam. They will be passed on to a new generation and made accessible to a broader audience. For the first time since the Golden Age, the House with the Heads will be opened for the free spirits and independent thinkers of yesterday, today and tomorrow, for artists and scientists, for entrepreneurs and anyone who seeks and delivers inspiration and power of thought.
