HNI is a global development organization dedicated to bringing the benefits of technology to individuals and organizations working in the developing world. We work across all sectors to promote the free flow of information between vulnerable groups and the humanitarian and development professionals dedicated to helping them.HNI focuses on 3 important areas of Information & Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D): 1) Mobile data collection services for development professionals2) On-demand search engines for simple mobile telephones3) Call centers to interview key informantsHNI was co-founded by two brothers, David and Andrew McAfee, who sought ways of working at the intersection between International Development and Information and Communication Technology. In 2013, HNI supported more than 1,500 partners in over 110 countries to leverage Information and Communication Technology for Development. HNI has a world headquarters in Washington, D.C. and a regional office in Madagascar.
