The Humane Society of New Braunfels Area, Inc. is a 501(c)3 a non-profit organization that helps the animals of New Braunfels and Comal County. We assist in reuniting lost animals with owners, and finding life time homes for our adoptable animals as well as advocating for responsible pet ownership including proper spay, neuter and vaccination procedures.We work very closely with wildlife rescue, reputable rescue organizations, and other local animal shelters. During school sessions we offer educational programs to elementary grade students. We also offer field trips to our Humane Society, so children can receive a hands-on experience. We have served as a disaster relief shelter for hundreds of animals during hurricanes and or floods. We, the staff and board of the Humane Society, all take pride in our work and in our community.Our Mission Statement:The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area strives to promote the humane treatment of animals and to foster respect, understanding, and compassion for all creatures.Primary GoalThrough the ceaseless efforts of our professional staff, our primary goal is to awaken the true humanity and compassion of the citizens in our communities to the needs and rewards of caring for and respecting animals.Objectives •We provide care and safe harbor for animals afflicted by neglect, abandonment and abuse.•We advocate proactive spay/neuter initiatives, community education, and second chance adoptions.•Our shelter provides temporary loving care for impounded animals, adoptable animals, and animals displaced by or evacuated from natural disasters.
