Humanitarian Innovation Lab (HiL) Details
HiL is an innovation unit based in Beirut, Lebanon that develops humanitarian-based technologies for Syrian refugees. HiL was formed in 2017 through a partnership between UNHCR Lebanon and the Kayany Foundation. At HiL, we combine human-centered design principles with today's most forward thinking technologies to develop scalable solutions that address real refugee needs and concerns. We strive for collaboration at every stage of development, leveraging both local refugee advisory committees and engineering experts to build technically sound products that provide the experience and outcomes our end users demand. It is through this collaborative approach that we hope to inspire new conversations, approaches, and examples of how technology can be utilized to improve humanitarian and development outcomes.
