Humanitas is a highly-specialized teaching and research hospital. It is home to a cutting-edge research center (IRCCS) and hosts the Humanitas University. Humanitas promotes prevention and diagnostic services through innovative outpatient health care facilities. Its innovative organizational design is built around pathology-specific centers, rangingfrom oncological conditions (Humanitas Cancer Center), to cardiovascular, neurological and orthopedic ones. In addition to its pathology-specific centers, Humanitas operates a High-Specialty Emergency Center, the highest level of emergency care recognized in Italy. Humanitas was the first Italian hospital to be certified by Joint Commission International.
