Purchased from the Gartner Family in 2007 by Stephen Moignard, the once high-profile chief executive of Davnet Ltd who fell spectacularly to earth with the Tech Wreck of 2002. Prior to being purchased by Stephen, the vineyard produced A-grade fruit for local winemakers such as Peter Douglas who won several awards with it. While Coonawarra is generally flat, this vineyard is one of the few in the region on a noticeable rise at 82m.The Hundred of Comaum vineyard is north from the town of Penola, within the "terra rossa" geological soil formation. Steve Moignard purchased the current vineyard in 2007 and introduced a new approach – lower yields, hand pruning, traditional winemaking and high-tech maturation. Fermentation is currently carried out at both Ladbroke Grove Wines and Greatstone Wineries, which adjoins the 170 acre property, by Sean Murphy and Keith Wilkens respectively. Barrel and tank storage is carried out on the property. Cellar door sales are held at the trendy Terra Rossa Wine Club restaurant in the heart of Penola, a business owned by the vineyard company.
