Hungry Heroes is a restaurant and deli specialising in hearty and robust meats.Hungry Heroes spots a hot deli counter that serves a range of ready-to-eat meat delights such as the Classic Pulled Pork , the Veal Osso Bucco and Bratwurst Sausages; as well as a cold deli showcase of fresh premium meats such as the 150-day Grass-fed Tenderloin, the 100-day Grass-fed Rib-eye and Lamb Rack. Pork Ribs are also a specialty at Hungry Heroes and are available for order in half racks (from $18) and full racks (from $34) in a variety of flavours. Twice-cooked, the pork ribs are first braised over low heat before being glazed with house marinades and placed in the oven to seal in the juices. For a hearty communal feast, the "Hungry Heroes Platters" such as the "Nice to Meat You" ($59 per platter, serves 2 to 3 guests) and the "Steak-out" ($116 per platter, serves 4 to 5) are perfect for vibrant get-togethers. Each platter features a combination of meats from the deli, and are served with fries or roasted potatoes, caramelised onion, and sautéed corn. Sparing no effort on the menu, complementary light bites and sides such as the Chili Con Carne and Truffle Mash Potato are prepared fresh daily, and all accompanying sauces like the in-house creation—Heroes Sauce are homemade to a special chef's recipe.A tight craft beer program is carefully curated to pair with the robust meat menu. On tap, the Deschutes River Ale is an easy to drink pale ale that pairs well with a wide range of meats. The Rogue Mocha Porter, a winner of the Gold Medal at the World Beer Championships in 1995, is best enjoyed with grilled or smoked food such as the pork rib signatures.
