Hushhh Hub is a not for profit organisation dedicated to opening a house where parents can come with their babies and get some sleep! Sounds strange, we know, but with so many parents feeling unsupported and isolated; we need to step up and provide a solution.Parents of new babies with no or limited family support are exhausted and suffering.Up to 74% of parents don't seek help until they reach the point where they can't cope.1 in 7 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers experience postnatal anxiety or depression.Struggling parents = struggling families = struggling communities.There is no respite for new parents available at this time – this affects each of us.With immigration, FIFO families, single parent families and the lack of proximity to extended families, the extent of the isolation and lack of support it often hidden behind closed doors.Hushhh Hub will offer a safety net, respite for exhausted parents in those long sleepless days. Hushhh Hub will offer early intervention before depression and helplessness set in. We believe a drop of ‘prevention' is worth a bucket of ‘cure'.We are unique in our concept where we are not designed to teach parenting skills, we are providing the practical and emotional support to the parents so they can have the focus and energy to enjoy being a parent. Hushhh Hub believe in collaboration with existing parenting services such as health professionals, family support services and external agencies to encourage a holistic approach for the best outcome.Hushhh Hub will have a far-reaching social impact because by supporting the parents we are increasing their mental wellness, which will affect their productivity in the workforce and community, and baby will be able to thrive. Hushhh Hub rely on grants and donations to assist as many families as we can.
