Hydrogen Europe Research (former N.ERGHY) is a research grouping of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), a unique public private partnership supporting research, technological development and demonstration activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe. Gathering 97 research institutions (universities and research centres), it supports and promotes research interests in the FCH JU and creates a framework for cooperation of science and industry in Europe.On May 6th 2014, the Council of the EU formally agreed to continue the FCH JU under the Horizon 2020 Framework Program. The programme (2014-20) has a total budget of €1.33 billion provided on a matched basis between the EU represented by the EC, the European Industry and Research. The main activities of Hydrogen Europe Research are described below:- Hydrogen Europe Research provides a unique arena for EU research entities in the hydrogen and fuel cell sector willing to contribute to the coordinated FCH development in Europe. The members actively determine the EU R&D strategy in the field by giving inputs to the FCH JU multi-annual and annual work plans. In cooperation with industry, the technical content for the calls for proposals is defined yearly.- Hydrogen Europe Research offers a networking platform for identifying suitable industrial and research partners; it facilitates the cooperation among research institutions. Regular meetings, events and webinars throughout the year and support our members' involvement in FCH JU projects.- Hydrogen Europe Research works to secure funding support for FCH technologies in Europe, with special emphasis on fostering fundamental R&D activities. Pooling investments, combining funding from different EU and national programmes is one of our key goals in the dialogue with Member States and the EC.
