Hyndburn and Ribble Valley CVS (HRVCVS) was set up in 1998 and is a registered charity and a company by limited guarantee. We are part of a local and national network of over 200 CVS's.We are members of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and Lancashire Association of Councils for Voluntary Service (LACVS) and Volunteer England and are managed by an Executive Committee made up of Elected representatives from member organisations. We provide information and advice on all aspects of setting up and running voluntary group, including funding, information, financial advice, and managing projects. We also administer grant schemes on behalf of organisations such as NHS and Eric Wright Charitable Trust.Duties include:Working with new and existing groups to help them develop new projects and expand their services and activites to meet local needs.Information and practical support to groups to access funding opportunities.Organising forums, meetings and local conferences so that groups can get together to discuss issues of concern- Encouraging other agencies to listen to, and work with, the local voluntary and community sectors and represent the sector at strategic levelFacilitating partnerships with groups to more effectively identify and meet the needs of the local community.Identifying and arranging training programmes for the local Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector including Innovative basic and accredited courses to upskill individuals and groups.Helping groups to recruit volunteers and assistance for individuals to get into volunteering, in order to help improve individuals' well being, employability skills, and access to training.
