Implementing our iPad program at different retirement communities has been an emotionally gratifying privilege and a wonderful experience. I have had the pleasure to work directly with 70, 80 and 90 year olds in independent living as well as in memory care. They have shared their life stories and lessons, and have taught me that it is never too late to learn and accomplish something new. I've helped older adults with Parkinson's do water color on the iPads, and heard about older adults with dementia playing and singing along "You are my sunshine" on a harp app. For 2013, as we further develop our iPad program, we hope to have the privilege of working with people with disabilities. We believe iPads can be a wonderful enrichment tool in skill building classes, as well as a great resource at centers for people with disabilities.
