Icarus Training Systems Ltd specialises in the design, development and manufacture of inflatable training devices for aerospace and military customers. Operating out its own manufacturing facility in Southend On Sea, the company has an extensive CAD design facility and a wide range of manufacturing processes in house. Known throughout the aerospace industry as the worlds leading supplier of training slides and rafts, Icarus includes a large number of flag carrying airlines among its customers. With products ranging from the BAe 146 and Sukhoi Superjet slides, up to the A380 and B747 Upper Deck slides, Icarus has developed bespoke solutions for a number of simulator suppliers and customers. Icarus inflatable targets and decoys are sold under the companies Airborne brand and have been used by the MoD for many years in their training activities. These squady-proof inflatables provide an effective recognition target for forward air controllers and pilots in friend or foe and attach training. It's possible to pack several vehicles into one Land Rover and then deploy them as a full battle group using only two soldiers.
