IEEE Santa Clara Valley Section (SCV) is the largest IEEE Section in the world in terms of both active members (over 11,000 members) and Organization Units (OU) with 28 Technical chapters, 4 Affinity Groups, & 14 Student Chapters. It has received IEEE MGA Outstanding Large Section Awards, IEEE Region 6 Outstanding Large Section Award as well as IEEE Regional 6 Central Area Outstanding Large Section Awards. It has received numerous awards from IEEE for Outstanding Achievement in Membership Recruitment. Through the dedication of many volunteers on the SCV Section Executive Committee (ExCom), SCV Section has maintained the most activities in collaborating with academia and industry leading companies in organizing workshops, conferences, startup/entrepreneurial and industry events such as the Maker Faire, SEMICON West, Wearable Technologies Conference, Techstars Startup Weekend, Plug and Play Techcenter Energy Startups Pitch Competition, San Jose State University Engineering Program in Community Services (EPICS), UC Santa Cruz Hack-a-Bot robotics hackathon, and many more. http://www.ieee.org/scv
