If I Had A Hammer, selected by The New York Times as one of the top new educational programs in the country, has worked with over ONE MILLION children in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Hammer specializes in teaching children the physical application of fractions, measurement, and scaling—the foundation of STEM. Students learn about the importance of their education, as they participate in the Hammer Curriculum and build a Hammer House large enough the entire class can get inside. Using the Hammer curriculum for 3 years, Lansdowne Elementary 5th graders in Lexington, KY, tested at the 99th percentile in math gains nationally on the MAP Test. Currently, the University of Kentucky is conducting a $200,000 research project on Hammer.
