IFBT is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that has Members in twenty-four countries. Its main objective is to promote the sport of Beach Tennis and sport in general through its Associate Members in a healthy, fun, and participatory environment. For this reason, IFBT designed and implemented a global game system where all competitions have an initial Round Robin phase and a final eliminatory phase that ensure a minimum of three games for all participating players. In order to promote active participation IFBT has created eight different world rankings adapted to all ages. IFBT currently has competitions in Over 30, 40, and 50 categories. In junior categories IFBT has Under 10, 12, 14, and 16 categories. For Advanced players we currently have up to four different categoriesdepending on the level of the athlete. Every athlete will be placed in the most appropriate competition for their level of play. These categories are called Open, Advanced A, Advanced B and Advanced C.Beach Tennis is a sport played mainly in couples of the same-sex or mixed. The beach and the public space in general are very suitable and affordable places for sports. We do not need large investments, we usually put up a net, mark the playing field, take a racket and ball, and start playing. Beach Tennis isa sport that can be played outdoors on the beaches as well as on the streets, schoolyards, and on all kinds of surfaces. When we play on surfaces other than sand then we call the sport Gym Racket.Following the opinions of our Associate Members, IFBT has prioritized sports development programs in various groups. These groups have been categorised into:• Women's Sport, Girls and Women• Sport for Youth• Sport for Adults• Sport for the Disabled
