IGC has been in business since 1999 as an FCC licensed 214 carrier providing high quality international direct dial to wholesale, business and consumers. In mid 2007, a new management team acquired IGC. The new company's operations and network were optimized to enhance quality and efficiency.Within six months the network was moved from New York City to more cost effect space in New Jersey, the core network was changed from Nortel DMS 250 to Nextone, and a new billing system implemented.By April of 2008 the company's business model was changed from a mix of retail and wholesale to one based solely on developing and selling high quality direct wholesale terminations. During 2008, IGC also acquired another wholesale provider and integrated this business into IGC.During 2010 we have taken the opportunity to expand our switching capability to 15,000 ports and upgrade our network backbone to Gigabyte infrastructure.
