Ihssane Leckey is an immigrant, survivor, and Wall Street regulator. The daughter of a teacher and a farmer, Ihssane became the backbone of her family as a teenager after losing her father to a stroke.In the wake of the financial crisis, her commitment to justice drove her to fight the big banks as a Federal Reserve special examiner. Ihssane witnessed corrupt and complacent politicians unwilling to hold banks accountable, once again jeopardizing our homes, jobs, and communities.A compassionate social and racial justice activist, Ihssane is organizing to amplify the needs and voices of our communities from Brookline to Fall River. She is fighting for a Green New Deal, Medicare For All, and Universal Family Care.Ihssane lives in Brookline with her daughter Nora, partner Sean, and their dog Benji.
