i+i studio is a sustainable environmental design consulting team focused on the relation between buildings, occupants´ comfort and energy efficiency. We analyse the performance of buildings and propose solutions for the minimization of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, while guaranteeing the wellbeing of their occupants. Ultimately, we add economical value to each project through architectural quality and energy savings.We are a dynamic practice with architectural background in different places, such as Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Hungary, Canada, US and Singapore. Our experience is based on the collaboration with other professionals in order to build teams based on each project's necessities.We aim to contribute to an architectural scenario in which buildings become less energy-dependant and occupants´ comfort is increased through sustainable design.Our vision is based on a process that starts on the minimization of each project´s energy demand. Next, the resulting energy demand is managed by the efficient energy systems. Finally, the incorporation of renewable energy sources guarantee low environmental impact, generating as a result passive architecture. Our consulting service focuses on the assessment of each architectural space within its context in order to obtain a deep understanding of its energy performance. For such purpose, buildings are simulated as thermodynamic systems taking into account all the conditionings affecting their performance: climate, location, orientation, geometry, meteriality, and occupancy patterns. This way, we obtain enough information in order to propose design strategies to achieve energy savings and occupants´comfort, which guarantee sustainable and more valuable projects.
