RTU (Riga Technical University) IKSA Research Lab is a part of the IKSA CENTER (Information, communication and signal processing technology national research center) for the national project implementation. Several objects of scientific infrastructure have been created within the project, and the "RTU IKSA" Research Lab is a part of this infrastructure.Since the foundation in 2013, the "RTU IKSA" Research Lab has substantially expanded its range of activities, focusing not only on prototyping of robots, as originally intended, but also covering areas such as:- Multi-robot systems - autonomy and mutual cooperation methods, mapping and automatic fusion, behavior-based operation;- Sensors and sensor networks - data fusion and processing towards "smart" sensor solutions;- Data analysis and development of predictive models in problem areas of big and "small" data;- Research and development of solutions based on affective computing;- Machine learning, including practical solutions of deep neural networks and computer vision;- High-performane computing-based practical solutions;- Wide application platforms of high mobility robotics;- Development of electromechanical and electronic prototypes of specific equipment;- IoT-based solutions and data analysis software development.Currently, the laboratory is used by experienced doctors of science, new doctors, as well as students from different levels. We have modern prototyping equipment for electronic, electromechanical, mechanical prototyping and software development, incl. for the FPGA solution development. We actively cooperate with the industry, scientific institutions outside RTU, as well as execute custom works: the development of specific solutions, solutions, incl. software code, validation and testing, prototyping, R&D, etc.We are active in the field of robotics and cooperate with schools and non-governmental organizations to promote STEM sciences in Latvia and abroad.Contact info: agris.nikitenko@rtu.lv
