Our company was initially established in 1959 as a small hardware store in Famagusta, Cyprus. Consequently, the first import took place in 1960. After our founder was killed during the inter-cummunal strife in Cyprus in 1963, his only son, İlkay Genc, took over the company. Since 1963, the company has grown to become one of the biggest building materials importers and sellers in North Cyprus. It is among the few leading Turkish Cypriot companies which established the first trade relations with Turkey via importing and wholesaling Turkish construction products. Today, Ilkay M. Genç Ltd. imports 20.000 different kinds of goods ranging from construction materials, hardware and hand tools to paint bath and ceramics from 100 different companies in 15 countries and sells them in its four different branches located in the major cities of Famagusta, Nicosia and Kyrenia. Besides the retail sales in our DIY stores, our company also offers services for wholesaling these products throughout the local market via its strong sales team. Especially in the last decade, our company has given utmost importance and invested largely to infrastructure, technology and human resources with a view to adapting to the requirements of our age, sustaining our leading position in the market and making a strong headway tı the future.
