ISJO's member councils of Wollongong City, Shellharbour City, Kiama Municipal and Shoalhaven City have a combined area of some 5,800 square kilometres and is home to around 404,000 people. The principal functions of the ISJO are to establish strategic priorities for our region and develop strategies and plans for delivering these priorities. The ISJO also provides strong regional leadership in advocating for improvement to the infrastructure and services to our member's communities. Programs delivered by the ISJO team on behalf of our councils include the Southern Regional Waste Strategy Program initiatives of Regional Illegal Dumping Prevention and Litter Prevention Programs; the Regional Joint Procurement Program; and the Illawarra District Weeds Authority.
