The Illinois Housing Council was created to promote the stabilization of communities through the production and preservation of affordable housing. IHC advances its mission through education, information and constructive relationships with state, local and federal officials. Founded in 2002, IHC is comprised of individuals and organizations involved in all aspects of affordable housing. IHC members include owners, property managers, developers, building, subcontractors, government officials, lenders, accountants, market analysts and consultants. Being a member of IHC allows you to: Keep informed and help to shape Illinois' Public Policy for affordable housing. Meet individuals and organizations actively involved in affordable housing development. Participate in IHC affordable housing educational conferences and seminars to help improve your development and management practices. Stay on top of rapid changes in the affordable housing industry so you can capitalize on these changes. Interact with affordable housing funding sources and agencies. Use IHC as a network to promote your own affordable housing development, and/or professional services, to a select audience of potential clients and customers. Keep up-to-date on government activities in Springfield and Washington that affect affordable housing development.
