The Illinois Music Hall of Fame, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (with approval pending), is dedicated to honoring, preserving, and documenting the rich and lasting contributions Illinoisans have made to all genres of music. The home city of the organization is tentatively planned to be Peoria, with an eventual "brick and mortar" site for a museum, gift shop, music archive, and space for education events, music performance, coffee shop, and meetings. An annual induction ceremony will begin in fall 2016 as the organization and related resources/processes are built from the ground up. Additional fund-raising and public awareness events will occur throughout the state starting in 2015 and beyond.
