IMART Cork 2020 ClG are a not for profit organisation set up to host the 3rd International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament and the inaugural Mixed Ability Week due to have been held in June 2020 now to be rescheduled for 2022. The event is part funded by European Commission Erasmus Plus for Sport programme. Working with IMAS (International Mixed Ability Sports) who are champions behind the Mixed Ability Model. This event is break down barriers to participation in sport, it promotes social inclusion and will generate long-term positive change in our communities.Mixed Ability Rugby grew organically from a lack of provision for disabled participants to play rugby. Players with and without physical and learning disabilities began playing in the same 15 a side rugby game abiding by World Rugby Laws.Mixed Ability emphasises regular, frequent and sustainable activities, self-determination, full membership of grassroots clubs and opportunities for social interaction for all.MAW (Mixed Ability Week) event will run a long side THE 3rd IMART, it will show care mixed ability model across a number of new sports. With workshops, taster sessions and an International Mixed Ability Conference looking at the mixed ability sports and inclusion in sport it is building up to be a fantastic event.Mixed Ability teams are "just another team" in the club!
