IMcommunity was created after experiencing first hand, the remarkable generosity of strangers. Following a near death accident in Northern Laos, the founder of IMcommunity was nursed back to health by a community of Thai strangers that had next to nothing but family and heart. The unrequited experience has led Andrea down a relentless path of paying that forward in developing countries by helping implement lunch programs, starting sports teams, helping create school programs, and now business development and strategy. The IMcommunity initiative was created to support communities of people who would not typically see sufficient income or have an opportunity to share their talents with the world. After working with the Thai people for nearly 13 years, Andrea was inspired to cultivate the richness of their honest collaboration on Canadian soil. IMcommunity was created to provide a unique, heartfelt purchasing experience that helps Canadians become integral members of their communities. We sell fair trade products crafted by roughly 30 wonderful Thai families and artisans and sell them through a unique private shopping experience. 15% of revenue is allocated to a charity of choice, turned into sponsorship funds for aspiring teams, or donations for non-profits. An additional 5% of revenue is sent back to the Thai community to continue to promote health, sport, education and communal business opportunities. Our goal is to foster and promote an integrated and communal environment to better our city. There are thousands of local charities, teams, and non-profits that could benefit from a financial boost.
