We are a family run apiary in Woltersdorf / Brandenburg. With regional, organic honey as our main product we produce also waxed cloths, honey liqueurs or special honey mixtures.The preservation of biological diversity is of particular concern to us: We are part of the network for the preservation and reintroduction of the European dark bee originally native to Northern and Central Europe. The subspecies of the western honey bee, botanically known as Apis Mellifera Mellifera, has been displaced by introduced subspecies from other regions since the 19th century and can only be found in a few protected areas. Through our queen breeding, we try to build up domestic, locally adapted colonies of European dark bees. We do this without dogmatism and respect that other subspecies such as Carnica and Buckfast are now also native to our region.
