Immigrant Home English Learning Program empowers foreign-born adults by providing individualized, in-home English language education and tools for effective navigation of our community. Our volunteers provide one-on-one instruction in the student's home. This provides the opportunity for a unique relationship between volunteers, students and their families. Teachers can personalize lessons and homework to meet goals. Together, weekly successes are celebrated, empowering students to achieve long-term goals.Classes are one hour, twice a week in the student's homeClasses are scheduled around volunteer's availability and locationVolunteers participate in the process of being matched with the perfect studentTeachers enjoy seeing student process and making a direct impactIHELP celebrated our 25th Anniversary in 2020. In 2020 we successfully pivoted in-home service to virtual classes to provide ongoing learning for the students in our program.
