The IMPACT Youth Mentorship Program is under the umbrella of the Y.E.S. House which supports at-risk youth in the Campbell County community of Wyoming. The mentoring program was founded in 1998 and has been serving youth through one on one mentoring in the community ever since.General InformationCommunity Based Mentoring: Mentors in this program commit to meet with their mentees for a minimum of one hour per week for one year. Mentors pick up their mentees once a week from their home and/or Youth Emergency Services. They can do various activities with their mentee including, but not limited to; playing at the park, help with school homework, bowling, taking walks, dinner, entrepreneurial development, volunteer work, utilize technology, and help their mentees develop skills essential to overcoming issues young people face these days. They must be able to pass and complete the screening process, follow all policies and procedures and be 21 years of age or older. Site Based Mentoring: Mentors in this program meet their mentees at a particular site, usually a local school. They meet the same afternoon of the week for an academic school year (September-May). Mentors in this program can participate in various activities within the site. This can include playing basketball, going to the library, homework, playing games, and helping implement essential skills and tools to help their mentee overcome topics such as bullying, substance abuse and truancy. They must be able to pass and complete the screening process, follow all policies and procedures and be 18 years or older.
