From 1904 to 1958, Imperia produced more than 20,000 cars near Liege. It is the largest ever make of cars in Belgium.In 2012, the revived Imperia Automobiles presented a prototype hybrid roadster, the Imperia GP. A pre-production version was later completed which succeeded all the critical EU type approval tests (homologation). Imperia Automobiles stopped its activity in 2016.
