Impromptunes is a professional improvised musical comedy troupe, combining the mischief of improvisation with the magic of musical theatre in full-length productions. The troupe made a highly successful debut in 2013 and has since performed their flagship show 'The Completely Improvised Musical' to sell out crowds in Perth Fringe World, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe, Bondi Feast and internationally at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.Each show is a one-hour improvised musical, based on a single audience suggestion: all of the music, dialogue, songs and dance routines are completely made up on the spot. Impromptunes is fast paced, exciting, and whole lot of fun.The cast is led by Company Director Emmet Nichols, who has many years of improvisation experience in both Perth and Melbourne. The hugely talented cast comes from a variety of backgrounds, including: WAAPA, VCA, Impro Melbourne, The Improv Conspiracy, Spontaneous Broadway and The Big HOO-HAA!Impromptunes also shares the love of improvised musical theatre through workshops for performers and non-performers alike, as well as offering entertainment at schools and corporate events.
