Co-founded May 2008 with fellow, self-taught, award-winning artist and business partner, Gary Stewart, also a native West Virginian, we established a loyal following among fine art collector's in our local Charleston, WV and surrounding areas under the name, In Your Space Studio. Our first collaborative, feature photography exhibition took place at The Purple Moon (Charleston, WV) in July 2008, just two months after approaching the local gallery owner with no more than a handful of 4x6" photos stuffed inside the pockets of my cargo shorts. Shortly thereafter, we developed the website, inyourspacestudio.com, to reach a larger, online audience to showcase our photography and paintings. In October 2008, our collaborative acrylic on canvas painting, "Smoking Deadheads Flowers," was awarded "Best In Show" during a juried art exhibit benefiting West Virginia Covenant House's Call For Artists to benefit the non-profit organization's Clean Indoor Air campaign aimed at increasing awareness among high-risk smokers. Our fine art greeting cards have become much sought-after, one-of-a-kind creations which offer a unique alternative to ordinary, commercial greetings. Throughout the process, the mission of our studio collaboration continues to serve as an experimental foundation whose focus is to create works of fine art outside the box which speak to the discriminating collector of fine art and to act as a positive influence in our local communities. ~ Chad Miller
