Inclusion In Sport was founded in 2017 by Lyndon Roberts, in response to a demand for equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding within the professional football industry. Lyndon studied Sports Coaching at University of Central Lancashire until 2007 and moved into community coaching with local organisations such as Nottingham Forest in the Community. He then moved to Nottingham City Council, where he spent 5 years managing a team of 30 staff, delivering sport and outdoor learning activities within local schools. He has also achieved a further first class degree in Sport & Educational Development, was awarded Nottingham Trent University's International Bursary for research on the Finnish education system, has been awarded a Masters level scholarship for academic excellence and has been awarded study at Staffordshire University in MA Sociology.Lyndon spent the Summer of 2014 initiating a national programme of training and sports development projects for Cerebral Palsy Sport, working with both Swim Wales and the ASA. He then spent a two years as Inclusion Manager at Derby County, leading a number of successful projects in the local community, such as Premier League Kicks, Homeless FA and grant funds for the Local Authority, Derby Homes, Metropolitan Housing and Children in Need. Furthermore, he secured a number of grant funds, from sources such as Comic Relief and the Multi Agency Gangs Team locally. Lyndon then spent 18 months supporting Premier League, EFL clubs and trusts/foundations with their equality, diversity and inclusion projects, including the Premier League Equality Standard and EFL Equality Code of Practice. This included delivering training to 400 professionals working at EFL clubs and the same number at Premier League clubs. Lyndon is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Derby on equality, diversity and inclusion in sport. Lyndon is a qualified coach in a number of sports, including football, swimming and orienteering, an FA Licensed Tutor, accredited tutor for the EFL and also a Sports Leaders UK tutor.
