Religious Institutions - Chicago, Illinois, United States
The Inclusive Collective (IC) is a vibrant, growing, and diverse campus ministry in Chicagoland. Our hub is the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), but we have students involved from several colleges in the city. Currently in our tenth semester, the IC is a relaunch of a ministry that was known as Agape House. Believing that God wanted to do a new thing with university students in Chicago, the ministry intentionally restarted in August 2015 as the Inclusive Collective with Rich Havard as Pastor and Executive Director. Over the past 4+ years, our community has grown from zero to over eighty members, many of whom haven't been part of a faith community in many years or ever; created robust discipleship programming; started South Loop Community Table, a meal for students and people experiencing homelessness that happens every Sunday evening; began partnerships to pursue systemic justice; and nurtured a strong organizational foundation through fundraising and Board development.
