The Indian Culinary Forum is the India's association of Professional chefs. It was originally formed in New Delhi on 9th April1985. It was founded by Chef Saraswat on April 1985, under the banner 'Les Toque Blanche'- Delhi Chapter. The need to rejuvenate the forum with an Indian name and identity was felt. As a result the existing body of Chef's forum was renamed as 'The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF)'. In 1987 the election was held and Chef Manjit Gill was elected as the President of newly formed ICF. I C F functions as an exclusive non-profit-making organization, Dedicated solely to the advancement of the culinary art of India. The Forum's objective is to act as a link, platform, useful and necessary instrument for the national community of chefs. The World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS) is a 52-nation fellowship comprising the world's various professional chefs' organisations. WACS endorses the ICF as the authorized Indian culinary forum. The ICF, thereby, has an international culinary focus and staging of its various competitions, seminars and events. As a society for the professionals and technocrats, conducts an election once in 2 years for the office bearers, for the post of PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, SECRETARY GENERAL, JOINT SECRETARY and TREASURER.An individual who is designated as a Demi Chef De Partie or above working in any organization related to Hospitality industry, is eligible to become a member of ICF, subject to approval from his employer and the sitting executive committee of ICF.
