IIHC endeavours to incorporate communication skills training as an integral part of medical, dental and nursing curriculum.Through diligent efforts with doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, IIHC endeavours to bring about a drastic improvement in the standards of communication in patient care, thereby, positively affecting the overall quality of healthcare delivery in the country.INDIAN INSTITUTE OF HEALTHCARE COMMUNICATION - IIHCIIHC has taken a lead and has come up with variety of training programs to meet the need of the hour. Its evidence based communication programs provide extensive opportunity to all the healthcare providers to learn and practice through self-introspection exercises, role plays, videos, discussions and practice sessions.We are collaborating with medical and dental colleges to incorporate communication skills training within the perimeter of clinical curriculum of undergraduate and post graduate students, in order to inculcate these skills right from the beginning.IIHC is working extensively to sensitize practicing doctors, nurses and para-medical staff towards the importance of essential clinical communication skills required to improve quality of patientcare by reducing medical errors, ensuring patient safety and creating patient satisfaction.We also offer workshops for healthcare professionals on a diverse array of soft-skills like building inter-personal relations, team building and leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management, etc. to help them effectively manoeuvre through stressful clinical situations and work like a team.IIHC has been established with an objective to fill in the gap between the communication needs of the society and existing practices in healthcare. Our ‘Train the Trainer' programs in healthcare communication are conducted with a motive to ensure that each organization has their independent set of trainers, thereby creating a ripple effect in our endeavour to improve the overall efficiency of the healthcare communication practices in the country.IIHC regularly evaluates its every program through feedback from the participants and refines it to meet the need of the healthcare industry. We're undertaking research activities to understand the patients' expectations and prepare the healthcare professionals to respond appropriately. IIHC is working on identifying and establishing essential protocols for efficient healthcare communication practices to match the socio-cultural needs of the patients.IIHC is now well associated with excellence in healthcare communication trainings and in a span of two years, it has conducted around 500 healthcare Communication training programs for more than 15000 (fifteen thousand) healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff working in 35 hospitals of Delhi Government.IIHC has worked extensively in the private sector as well. We have conducted more than 500 training workshops on enhancing clinical communication for practicing clinicians, senior consultants, residents, nurses and administrators in many corporate hospitals like- Max Healthcare, Fortis Hospital, Artemis Hospital, Rockland Hospital and many more.We at IIHC are working tirelessly in the pursuit of excellence in healthcare communication by empowering healthcare providers, with an objective of positively affecting the overall quality of healthcare delivery in the country.
