Indian Society of Healthcare Professionals (ISHP) is a non-government, non-profit organization incorporated in 2010, under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act.ISHP is working to strengthen the health systems in the country by establishing and leveraging a network of healthcare professionals for volunteering opportunities and thereby making a significant contribution to the achievement of health-related Millennium Development Goals. The priority areas are establishing elderly care support services, Skill development in healthcare sector, consultancy services for various healthcare organizations, preventative and public health.With the help of the volunteers and a minimal staff, some highlights of the ISHP experience since 2010 are:1.ISHP has facilitated creation of 2 hospitals in the rural areas.2.ISHP has designed, operationalized and managed more than 20 mobile medical units all over India, especially in remote areas where access to health services is poor. We partner with local NGOs and the public health system to optimize the mobile medical services.3.ISHP has successfully organized more than 30 medical camps across NCR, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal to provide basic medical care to the local poor population.4.ISHP has set-up more than 10 water treatment plants in multiple states for public use.5.ISHP has developed training modules in Family planning & Contraception, Sexual Health, Tuberculosis, Maternal Health, Breast feeding, Child Health and HIV & AIDS.6.ISHP has leveraged IT expertise to design, develop and implement various ICT-based solutions to plug the gaps in health care delivery to the last mile clients.
