Utilities - Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Indigenous Energy Australia (IEA) is an Indigenous owned and operated, profit-for-purpose organisation committed to improving the livelihood of remote, regional and Indigenous Australians. Our projects are the World's First indigenous owned, operated & constructed renewable energy projects. IEA provides local revenue, skill and infrastructure through the installation of renewable primary utilities (Electricity, Water, Waste Water). We up-skill local workforces and create employment across every stage of the project lifecycle. Education programs accompany our installation, build and maintenance stages to train local community members in Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Trade and Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, and Business Administration. IEA utility projects are owned and operated by the Indigenous communities that they serve. The needs and desires of the 1200+ indigenous communities across Australia vary significantly. Each IEA project is built on the opinions, customs and environmental knowledge of the surrounding communities. With these as building blocks, IEA creates relevant, empowering and effective renewables projects at every site. We believe that the best way to achieve indigenous empowerment is through forging a lasting connection between communities and local industry. IEA services the utility needs of remote industry including mining, townships etc. as well as fulfilling the requirements of the communities themselves. Industry will benefit from the subsidies associated with an indigenously owned and operated service whilst local indigenous communities enjoy longterm employment generation and a stable economic platform.
