The Indonesian Society of International Law (ISIL) was founded by Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana together with the four members of the first Indonesian team of the Jessup Competition: Adhyanti Sardanarini Wirajuda, Arisia Pusponegoro, Maria Irma Yunita and Ign. Puguh Priambodo upon returning from the 2001 Jessup International Rounds.ISIL is officially appointed by International Law Students' Association ("ILSA"), the grand organizer of the International Jessup Competition, to organize the Indonesian National Rounds since 2002. The objectives of ISIL include among others:- To increase understanding and recognition of the principle of international law- To further the education of others in principles and purposes of international law- To promote the study of international law- To promote the comparative study of the legal system of the world; so as to facilitate communication and understanding among people of different nations- To educate and enlighten ourselves and others in these field of knowledge by means of discussion, research, publications, exchanges and other means and to promote mutual links between lawyers and students from around the world- To increase the participation of students in international, national, regional, and local conferences and also improvement of knowledge and experience of members of the society and the legal profession in the practice of international law
