We seek out owner-run companies who have reached a key inflection point, a point where things need to change if the business is to continue growing (or stop declining). We then join the business owner as their executive team, and for a concerted period help him/her refocus the business strategy, and then align the organization culture, structures, processes and systems so that the business thrives. Not only do we get our hands dirty, but we also aim to take an equity stake in these businesses to highlight our long-term commitment and involvement. Once the business is performing effectively, we hand over our operational roles to the right people, and then focus on providing ongoing, high-impact executive support to the CEO and management team. For a business owner/CEO, this means having an executive team of ‘peers' who will not only get actively involved in solving specific business challenges, but who will stay on for the long term to provide the executive support needed to make the right decisions when it matters most.
