Information Design Society of Mount Royal University Details
Our goals are to facilitate and encourage encourage a community atmosphere, support academic excellence, and provide an exciting and rewarding social environment. We serve current Bachelor of Communications - Information Design students at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. In 2014, under the presidency of Joshua Penner, the IDS initiated a program called The President's Award, a $500 scholarship available to any current information design student through competition. The first students to win this award were Logan Krupa and James Ridley. Both applicants scored similar grading through our scoring system and the society voted to split the award. One of our highlight events include "Design-a-koke", a wild intermingling of faculty and students our campus pub, for a night of questionable singing skills, and fundraising for the society. We hold other events throughout the year including our Halloween, Christmas, and Last Class parties.
