Initiatives for Inclusion Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization ("NGO") registered as a Public Charitable Trust in New Delhi. IIF is working with private, government sector organizations, government bodies, police departments for creating awareness as well as ensuring effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 [POSH Act, 2013]. IIF partnerned with the Chhattisgarh Government (Women and Child Development Department) to conduct capacity building sessions for Local Complaints Committee Members and District Officers appointed across 27 districts in the State under POSH Act, 2013. As part of its work on gender based laws, the Foundation has developed and implemented capacity building programs and community mobilization at ground leveI. The Foundation conducted capacity building sessions for women running the Sakhi Centres (One Stop Centres) across 27 districts in the state of Chhattisgarh to simplify gender based laws and procedures for Sakhi Centre members, training them on conducting effective counselling sessions and building processes within the Centre to deal effectively with women in distress. IIF through its capacity building interventions is also working with various CAW (Crime Against Women) Cells in New Delhi to train police officers on laws preventing sexual harassment at workplace and conducts gender sensitization sessions for police offices to help them deal effectively with women in distress. A PIL has also been filed in Supreme Court [Initiatives for Inclusion Foundation vs Union of India and Ors.- WP(C) 1224/2017] to ensure that state governments comply with POSH Act, 2013.
