When they went on their second date, Fiona and Shane Lysse never suspected it would one day belong to them. The couple, who met in Augusta, fell in love with Inner Bean Café for its welcoming atmosphere, fresh locally roasted coffee, and home-baked goods. So, when the original owners put Inner Bean Café on the market in 2017, the couple decided to take the leap into the local coffee culture.Determined to keep its established employees and clientele, as well as its reputation for excellent café fare, the couple focused on fine tuning Inner Bean's specialty items and services. Cakes and desserts are baked from scratch in-house daily, as are all seasonal specials, soups and sandwiches. However, Shane says, his team members are the most important element of the business – its heart – and even more vital than the café's food. And, the team is set to expand to a second location close to the Medical District and downtown Augusta. With monthly art shows, in-store merchandise, live music and cozy seating areas inside and out, it's time to check out the Inner Bean Café.
