The Inner-City Foundation For Charity & Education is a 501(c)(3) non-sectarian foundation that supports organizations providing assistance, including food, clothing, shelter, counseling and education, to at-risk and needy children and adults of Fairfield County. The Foundation strives to meet these critical needs by identifying and supporting those organizations that have proven, or have the strong potential, to be most effective at serving that population efficiently and well. The Foundation has awarded $26.6 million in grants since 1992, including $13.7 million in scholarship aid for inner-city school students, and $5.9 million to social service agencies that provide food, clothing, health services, counseling, transportation and shelter to those in need. In addition, the Foundation has awarded another $7 million to support programs for students with learning disabilities, recreation and education programs for children, and adult literacy programs that empower individuals to become self-sufficient.
