The IEHV (Innovative Electric and Hybrid Vehicles) Group was founded in 2013 by Prof. Massimiliana Carello, associate professor in Applied Mechanics. The IEHV group is hosted by the DIMEAS (Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) and the 2022 team is composed by 1 Post-Doc researcher, 3 PhD students and 3 research fellows.The research activity is focused on the automotive field and the main topics are:• Autonomous driving and ADAS;• Battery and cooling system modelling;• Composite modelling and testing especially for innovative suspension systems;• Design and control of mechatronic systems;• Electromechanical simulation and validation with electric powertrain components integration;• Fuel cell modelling, testing and integration;• Methodology development for FEM applications;• Multibody modelling for vehicle comfort, handling and performance;• NVH analysis and damping material applications;• Regenerative braking and torque vectoring systems modelling;The IEHV group is constantly involved in Regional and European research projects and it boasts several cooperation among Polito research groups, European university and important industrial partner.
