Inova Semiconductors is a fabless semiconductor supplier founded in Munich, Germany in 1999. Inova develops, manufactures and sells Gigabit link solutions for serial data communication and smart LED solutions within the automotive industry worldwide. Inova's core competencies are the development of semiconductors for digital high-speed data communication in demanding environments. Created by Inova, APIX (Automotive Pixel Link) is a multi-channel SerDes technology for high-resolution video applications which was developed for automobiles, particularly in the Infotainment and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) segments. The newest generation of technology, APIX3, can support multiple display connections with a transmission of up to 6Gbps over one shielded twisted pair (STP) cable, and up to 12Gbps over a quad twisted pair (QTP) connection. It also supports HD- and Ultra-HD-Displays. APIX has delivered 150 million units of the SerDes solution in the Automotive Industry. Leading automotive brands such as BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Mini, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Alfa Romeo design the APIX technology into their vehicles. Other OEMs are regularly joining in this trend. In the new business segment "intelligent digital LEDs", Inova markets its technology under the brand ISELED™ within the scope of the ISELED-Allianz. The new concept is based off of an intelligent LED controller that works together with a singular red, green and blue LED, all three of which are situated in a tiny packaging. Each of these mini "RGB-Modules" constitute a Pixel. When adjusted to a resolution of 24 Bit (3 x 8 Bit), more than 16 million colors can be depicted.
