Founded in 1999, the Institut français au Nigéria (IFN), a member of the FrenchInstitutes network, is the operator of the linguistic and cultural action of France inNigeria.The IFN, under the supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and theMinistry of Culture, actively contributes to France's influential diplomacy in Nigeria. Itsprojects and programs take into account local contexts and rely on a unique capacityto deploy through the vast diplomatic network made up of the Cultural Cooperationand Action Service of the French Embassy in Nigeria and French Alliancesthroughout the country.Located in Abuja, the administrative capital of the country, the mission of the Institutfrançais du Nigéria is to promote and disseminate the French language and culture,the Franco-Nigerian cultural cooperation and the promotion of studies in France.As a centre of excellence in the learning of the French language, we offer trainingadapted to all levels, objectives and particularities of each: children, students,professionals. We welcome over 2,000 learners each year. We are also anaccredited examination center to pass and issue internationally recognizedcertifications (DELF, DALF and TEF).The cultural dissemination mission of the Institut français du Nigéria aims to promoteaccess to Francophone cultures, to encourage Franco-Nigeria cooperation as muchas possible and support Nigerian initiatives to meet their audiences in Nigeria andFrance. With about fifty events a year, IFN is one of the major venues forbroadcasting in Abuja and across the country, thanks to our various partners.The IFN also has a media library open to the public and rich in books in French andEnglish, DVDs, magazines and self-service tablets.Professional translation services are also available for those who wish to translate alltypes of documents, from English to French or from French to English.
