Institute for Care, Assessment and Research Details
ICARE is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2006 after the July War by Dr. Chawki Azouri (psychiatrist/psychoanalyst), Dr. Ramzi Haddad (psychiatrist), Dr. Wadih Naja (psychiatrist), Mayssa' el Husseini (psychotherapist) and Elissar Chbeir (head nurse). The aim of the organization is to merge synergies and work experience in psychosocial programs and research in order to build a platform and network that assists in developing healthy psychosocial environments in local and marginalized communities in Lebanon. Its methodology includes providing training, capacity-building and psychosocial support at the grassroots level by creating a pool of consultants with relevant experience in the field of psychosocial support, which directly implements ICARE's activities in communities that suffer from deteriorating social, economic and political conditions.
