The Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) is a center for academic excellence in teaching and research in the fields of law and finance. It was established in 2002 in the financial center Frankfurt am Main in Germany as a foundation of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main with the support of many prominent institutions such as leading commercial banks, international law firms and regulatory authorities. The ILF offers a one-year interdisciplinary and pratice-oriented Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Finance program in English to about 50 international students per year. In addition, the ILF provides a policy platform in the legislative process by offering forums for discussions and exchanges between academia and practitioners.
