INSTITUTE OF BUDGET ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH (I-BAR) CENTRE)I-BAR Centre encourages and supports active civic participation through the promotion of transparency and accountability in Sub-Saharan Africa, including the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The specific objectives of I-BAR include: Sensitizing individuals from various backgrounds on issues that directly affect them; Create dialogue in rural areas between communities, utilizing a human rights-based approach; Support and establish independent citizen initiatives; Advocate for socioeconomic and environmental alternatives to local, sub-national, national and International level problems; Harness new forms of media to raise awareness about Government Policies being implemented at the Grassroots; Build capacity of civil society organizations; Champion for adoption and practice of Gender Responsive Budgets and Social Inclusion Budgets
